Wave 5 is 3 bosses, which can't be replaced with bats, but there's still 4 full waves of enemies who can be. 4:6-10 enemies will also likely be slightly weaker than 4:10-8 enemies. The downside is less exp rewarded, but as it's only a 90 exp difference it may be (and in my opinion, is) worth doing.S1 5-8 has 6 Reds for 3 energy. S2 cost 6. AR Recruit farming is on 15-8 Hard or 15-9 Normal. 15-8 Hard gets you a little less recruits than 15-9 Normal but if you're using loot tickets 15-8 saves you a ton. Yes still 8-7 sadly.
