Truck Model. GMC Sierra Classic 1500. Engine Size. 350 tbi. Hi Everyone. I have an issue with my 1987 GMC pickup. I changed out the motor to a ZZ6 crate motor. I am using the factory oil pressure guage which reads up to 60 psi. It is overloading the guage as the the ZZ6 puts out 60 psi at idle according to a manual guage we put on to check.If this occurred in an L99 much of it has to do with the active fuel management. The VLOM that controls the oil spraying into the cylinders that shut down can cause oil to not flow as it would. The LS3s don't have it however as you noted there is a screen under the oil pressure sensor that often gets clogged more often on the L99.I understand the sensors are most likely different as the S10 is a 4Cyl and my Silverado is the 5.3L V8. ...
